The client portfolio

Ever think about how your clients would fit in to your investment portfolio? Yes, I know it sounds impersonal and technical. But think about it for a moment: we want our clients to give us a positive financial return, some clients require more of our investment than others–and therefore should give us a higher return. Or we provide more value to a particular client, and we should get a higher return in the value investment we give them!

I talk more about it in this video, which builds on a response that I had to someone running a small home-based business in the Smart Hustle Facebook community, and looks at the mix from the standpoint of thinking about the ideal mix between steady clients and project-based clients, and what how we can bill each.
